Our innovative WorkWarn system was developed precisely for this purpose: a powerful proximity warning system with integrated height control and intelligent cable detection – specially designed for the safe use of road-rail excavators.
Working safely under voltage – with the WorkWarn system
The WorkWarn distance warning system ensures maximum safety when working near live power lines. It reliably detects:
- catenary wires
- overhead lines
- Cables with a diameter of only 10 mm or more
- as well as other objects above and next to the excavator boom
With its precise height control and automatic stroke limitation, the system warns the operator in good time as soon as the boom of a road-rail excavator approaches a cable. If necessary, the movement is stopped automatically – reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with standards.
Distance warning system with intelligent height control – optimized for two-way excavators
Our distance warning system is not only an early warning system, but also functions as a precise height control system. WorkWarn thus offers maximum protection when working with road-rail excavators in sensitive areas such as railway tracks or construction sites with overhead lines.
The system detects obstacles both above and to the side of the excavator arm—a decisive advantage in confined spaces or where cable routes are difficult to see. Automatic limitation of the lifting path effectively prevents accidents and damage.
Innovative: No additional monitors required
A special feature of WorkWarn is that it does not require any additional displays:
All warnings and system information are shown directly via an integrated LED display in the driver’s field of vision. The visual warning is supplemented by a powerful loudspeaker – this ensures that the operator remains alert at all times and can react quickly.
This well-designed solution helps to keep the workplace in the cab tidy and promotes driver concentration—a clear advantage for everyday use with road-rail excavators.
Easy integration into existing systems
Integrating the WorkWarn proximity warning system into existing system structures is incredibly easy. The system can be flexibly adapted to different vehicle configurations via a CAN bus protocol or classic I/O outputs—ideal for fleet operators or manufacturers of road-rail excavators.
